It was ranked 44 out of 113 Universities in Nigeria in the 2021 NUC ranking of Nigerian Universities. In the same year, 2021, our student in his third year took the SECOND BEST POSITION in the development of Apps in Nigeria. Some departments are being primed as flagships of the University.

You are welcome to the website of Hezekiah University, Umudi: the University of the moment. The University was founded by Living Christ Mission Inc. in May, 2015, as a faith-based institution that admits persons of every religion. It is the first private university in Imo State and unarguably the cheapest private university in Nigeria where each student enjoys a scholarship from the Founder and Promoter, His Grace, The Most Rev. Prof. Daddy Hezekiah MFR.

The University offers a number of programmes in the Natural and Applied Sciences, Humanities and Management Sciences as you will find in designated dropdown buttons. It hopes to increase the number of available faculties and academic programmes as it grows, but will normally consolidate existing ones. It maintains a high standard of academic delivery. You will certainly agree that the quality of a university is dependent on the quality of the teaching staff. To this end, we have very qualified lecturers from more than six universities in Nigeria and overseas working here as adjunct lecturers. They bring the mixed high standards from their different universities to improve on what we have here.

The vision of Hezekiah University is to bring qualitative and functional higher education closer to the people and to play a leading role in the socio-economic and cultural development of the communities that it serves.

OUR MOTTO

The motto of the University is, ‘Academic Excellence with Good Morals.’ The motto signifies the responsibilities that become incumbent upon the acquisition of knowledge, which make graduands to be the guardians of society such that knowledge that seeks to destroy society must not be contained.

OUR COLOR

The University has three major colours: blue, white and red.

The blue colour symbolizes unity and love, which shall reign within the university community. The white colour symbolizes purity and good morals, which constitute an integral part of the university motto. The red colour symbolizes the blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ shed for the salvation of mankind.

OUR ORIGIN

Hezekiah University was established as a private university in May 2015 under the license of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The idea to start the Hezekiah University was initiated in 2004 after which the initial contact with the National Universities Commission (NUC) was made. Thus, the application forms for the establishment of the university were obtained to begin the process of obtaining a license for the university.

The university is a direct response of Living Christ Mission Inc. to the crisis of access to university education facing the annual mass of qualified applicants seeking admission into existing Nigerian universities. The university is envisioned as the vehicle, amongst others already in place, through which the Church can influence its congregation, its immediate community and indeed Nigeria. The goal is to develop a world-class institution that shall be the pride of the Church’s congregation and indeed all Nigerians. It is in line with this focus that the Church sought to establish a university as is permitted under the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The idea of Hezekiah University was conceived and has continued to be nurtured in line with the mission, vision, aims and objectives of the Living Christ Mission Inc. and the wish to contribute to national development, and particularly to enhance educational opportunities for our teeming youths in quest of higher learning.
