OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR

The Registry organizes, directs and coordinates the activities of the administrative components of the university and is the custodian of the University records. It ensures that University publications such as the university calendar, university prospectus, staff handbook, student handbook, university gazette, handbook on administrative procedures are updated and released regularly. It is headed by the Registrar who is the chief administrative officer of the university and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administrative activities of the university. The Registrar is the Secretary to the Council, Senate, Congregation, Convocation and such other bodies as the statutes may prescribe or the Vice-Chancellor may direct and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for executive action arising from the decisions of aforementioned bodies

Dr. Peter Okey Ejikeme is presently the substantive Registrar of Hezekiah University, Umudi, Nkwerre LGA.

He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Urban University, Rome, (1994). He had another Bachelor’s Degree in Religion from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education in 1997, Masters Degree in Educational Psychology (2001) and another Masters in Religion (2007). He finally obtained his Ph.D in Educational Psychology from Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 2009.

A born teacher, Dr Ejikeme has taught in many tertiary institutions as well as held various positions of authority in such institutions. Specifically, in Tansian University Umunya, Anambra state, he was Registrar (2006-2009,2015-2019) before joining Hezekiah University.

Under the auspices of the Association of Registrars of Nigeria Universities, he co-chaired a committee in 2015. He was Secretary Generalof the Association of Registrars of Nigeria Universities(ARNU)(2016-2018).

He was team leader, monitoring South East in the 2017 UTME (2017,2018-2019)for JAMB. He has equally held various academic positions.

Dr. Ejikeme has published nine books, co-authored one. He has twenty-three journal articles to his credit while ten other journal articles were jointly produced. These are published in both local and international journals.

Dr. Ejikeme is very organized, detail oriented, a very good team player and goal oriented.He is married with children; he likes speech writing, writing of academic papers and loves with passion environmental planning and management. He’s in love with architectural designs and computer program development.
