Philosophy
Hezekiah University Business Administration Degree Programme seeks to produce managerial manpower with appropriate knowledge, skills and aptitude to handle the ever growing and changing business environment. The programme provides students with a liberal business education to prepare students for a creative role in business focusing on meeting the challenges of the contemporary business environment (such as globalization, increasing pace of change, and growing competition),and to meet the needs of aspiring executives and emphasizes the responsibility of leaders not only to care about the maximization of corporate value but to safeguard standards of moral and ethical conduct.
Our students not only become great professionals but also develop a strong personal ethic and empathy. The programme is designed for corporate executives who in the pursuit of business excellence aspire to do something that serves the higher interest of society, benefits the environment, and contributes to the well-being of their immediate community

- VISION – The Department of Business Administration at Hezekiah University, Umudi, Imo State, has the aspiration to produce scholars with both practical and academic eligibility, that exist in the domestic and international development of today’s business world and the economy, equipping and preparing the students with various important management skills to possess a form of uniqueness that will amaze the general public.
- MISSION – The Department of Business Administration at Hezekiah Universty Umudi, Imo State seeks to advance the students opportunities and experiences that allows them to enter the labour force with full capacity and ability after being fully grounded in the employing of information technology in various practical fields, knowing about the work environment, social responsibility of organisation and other institutions to their environment, critical thinking and better decision making.
- AIM & OBJECTIVE –
Within the context of the overriding philosophy, the specific aim and objectives of the programme are to:
- Provide basic knowledge and skills needed for the understanding and analysis of problems related to the management and administration of business, commercial, public and other human organizations.
- Equip students with knowledge and skills of decision making, especially the analytical skills needed for recognizing, defining and solving business, social, cultural and environmental related problems;
- Develop in students, a high level of communication, leadership and interpersonal relations skills.
- Provide the students with an awareness of subtle interplay of influence, persuasion and power in organizations.
- Develop in students a capacity for self-development through entrepreneurial skills and competencies to adequately prepare them to be innovative in job creation.
The programme is run on the understanding that average business entity faces in its operational environment challenges which call for professional interpretation. It is also well established that solution to a number of human needs are a function of application of business ideas. These important aspects of human survival are address in the programme of Business Administration.
Apart from its programme, the Department also teaches NUC required GST courses, and other required courses. Besides, the Department offers courses to other departments within the Faculty as part of faculty courses. The programme of B.Sc. Business Administration is of national interest, as it provides an academic insight into the major business and organizational problems confronting small, medium and large-scale business enterprises in Nigeria and globally by extension.

Admission Requirements
Candidates are admitted into the B.Sc. Degree programme of the department in any of the following ways:- through
Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
Direct Entry
Inter-University Transfer
JUPEB one year programme
UTME ENTRY MODE
The minimum academic requirement is credit level passes in five subjects at O/Level in nationally recognised examination including English Language, Mathematics and Economics at not more than two sittings. In addition, an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) based on the approved cut-off for the current academic session in which a candidate is seeking admission, with relevant subject combination such as Mathematics, Economics and one (1) other social science subject is required for Admission into 100 Level.
DIRECT ENTRY MODE
(a) In addition to O/Level requirements stipulated above, applicants should possess at least two A/Level papers in relevant subjects.
(b) OND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit grade in addition to the five credit passes as in relevant subjects.
(c) HND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit in addition to five credit passes as in relevant subjects.
JOINT UNIVERSITIES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION BOARD (JUPEB)
Candidate must possess minimum of 5 credits at minimum of two (2) sittings in at least 5 subjects (inclusive of English Language) relevant to the Business Administration Department which form the basis for the candidate admission into the Joint University Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) Programme. The candidate must have undertaken JUPEB Examination course relevant to the Department such as Accounting, Business Studies, Economics or Government in a minimum of an academic session of two semesters. The candidate must successfully meet up with the acceptable score/pass for admission into the Department as specified by the University and JUPEB Regulations.
INTER-UNIVERSITY TRANSFER
Candidates wishing to transfer into the Department from another University must have:
(a) Obtained and filled the Inter-University Transfer form from the University Admissions Office.
(b) Satisfied the Department Minimum academic standard required for such level.
